SRAM Parts Project

So I have been working on my piece for the SRAM pArt Project at the Kimball Art Center and here are some very preliminary photos of the build. It’s going to be a kinetic piece (obviously) but I can’t use electricity, so this will be 100% human powered, which is fitting since its made primarily of bike parts.

Expect more to come as it comes together.

New Sketchbook

I was perusing the wares at our local Farmer’s Market (ironically, not that many farmers were present) and came across Denik, a local company that makes really cool notebooks. Not only do they put local artists’ work on the covers, but they donate $1 from every book sold to build schools for children in developing countries. Naturally, I bought one:

The little bit on the cover says “Work is Play,” which I found appropriate for me, given that play is something that interests me and still informs my work. God job, Denik. I look forward to filling it up so I can get another one!

2012 Utah Ties show at the CUAC

Utah Ties is an annual juried show that the Central Utah Art Center hosts every year for contemporary artists who are living in or have a strong connection to Utah. The show opened yesterday and Sisyphus, one of my videos was not only curated into the show, but won first prize! I couldn’t be more thrilled or surprised. Regardless, everyone should see it. The CUAC (as we lovingly refer to it) is located at 86 N Main Street in Ephraim, UT. Ephraim is an awesome city in the heart of Utah. It also boasts a delicious malt shop, a tasty taco shack, and an A-1 pizza parlor (which doubles as an art gallery). Make a trip of it; you won’t regret it.

Website for Things are Become New

My newest installation Things Are Become New has opened at Art Access Gallery in Salt Lake. The show runs until February 10, 2012, so go check it out. Art Accesss Gallery is located at:

The gallery is open from 10 am-6 pm Monday-Friday.

This is a new .gif I have been working on for a while.  I might change it so his hands move as well, but I’m not so sure.
